Bells ring-out for road tolls On Monday, June 12, 2006
NewsLESS THAN a week into his new job and new transport secretary, Douglas Alexander said o­n BBC Radio that he will push ahead with road charging. He said the question was not whether nationwide charging should be introduced, but how. He will make available a further �10m for pilot projects around the country, in addition to those already in being in Cambridge, Durham, Bristol, Bath, Greater Manchester, Shrewsbury, Tyne and Wear and the West Midlands.

Mercedes puts safety first for new E-Class On Tuesday, April 25, 2006
NewsDAIMLER CHRYSLER is putting the emphasis o­n safety for its overhauled E-Class model scheduled to go o­n sale in June.No other car in this market segment can match the range of safety innovations including Pre-Safe, Intelligent Light System, Neck-Pro head restraints and adaptive brake lights, said Mercedes. "These extensive safety features make the E-Class the safest car in its class."
